Ann Lawson - Business Loan Officer
Ann moved to Alaska from the Philippines when she was two years old and spent a lot of her elementary school summers on Kodiak Island with her grandparents.
Ann worked at FNBA as a commercial loan processor and an associate in Wells Fargo’s business banking division, where she worked closely with non-profits and small businesses. She enjoyed learning more about how our local non-profits help our kids and our community and had a lot of opportunities to volunteer for those programs. The passion to help people get closer to their financial goals brought Ann to CILC.
Ann enjoys camping, fishing, and hiking with my family in the summer, but also likes to get out of the cold and travel to warmer weather in the winter.

Jose "Joe" Chavez - Mortgage Loan Originator

Joe has 18 plus years of banking, consumer lending, and mortgage lending experience and previously worked at Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc. and Alaska USA Mortgage Company.
Originally from San Antonio, TX, Joe has lived in Alaska since he was 13 years old. He has two young adult children, a son and a daughter. In his free time, Joe enjoys music. He's a blues guitarist and an enthusiast for jazz and classical guitar. He's also a public speaker/entertainer who has performed as a stand-up comic. Joe enjoys entertaining friends and family and sharing his love of cooking and grilling.

Erma Castillo - Mortgage Loan Originator

With over 20 years as a seasoned loan originator in Alaska, Erma’s career in real estate is part of a family legacy rooted in investing. Specializing in HUD 184, renovation, and new construction loans, Erma navigates diverse products, including multi-family investments. As a loan originator, Erma leverages her background to guide clients through mortgages, emphasizing personalized service and lasting relationships. For Erma, her work is about merging extensive industry knowledge with a commitment to well-being and building homes and dreams that stand the test of time.
Beyond work, Erma is a proud mom and grandmother, finding joy in her granddaughter's basketball games at the US Air Force Academy.

Julia Haakenson - Homebuyer Assistance Officer

Julia was born and raised on a homestead on the Kenai Peninsula, moving to Anchorage for college.
She took a job at Wells Fargo to help pay for college, but it quickly became a career. Julia spent 16 years in various departments, including the branch, mortgage assumptions, business banking, and mortgage origination. She quickly learned that helping people obtain their first home was a passion and is excited to bring that dedication to Cook Inlet Lending Center borrowers. She loves to be there for her clients as a calm, steady, knowledgeable presence, allowing the process to be easier and less stressful than it otherwise might have been.
In her free time, Julia loves to do typical Alaskan activities like hiking and camping, but she also enjoys curling up with a good book while cuddling her very fluffy cats.

Heather Campbell - Senior Accountant
Heather grew up in Alaska and graduated from college from Northern Arizona University.
After graduating Heather moved to Portland, Oregon where she fell in love with corgis and now has two. Upon leaving Oregon last year she traveled throughout the lower 48 in her 1981 VW bus for 5 months and ultimately ended up back in Alaska. Heather enjoys taking her furry companions on long hikes during the winter or summer months, but her favorite thing to do in Alaska is take the VW bus to craft shows and music festivals around the state where she sells sand carved art, and of course, her corgis go for the adventure too.

Jennifer Gomez - Mortgage Loan Processor
Jennifer was born and raised in California and moved to Oklahoma in 2020 to pursue a career as a loan counselor for the Chickasaw Nation.
She has been in the home mortgage industry for about 30 years and was referred to CILC by our partner, Chickasaw Community Bank, to join the CILC team as a Mortgage Loan Processor. Jennifer has four children, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She enjoys trail riding and hiking with a passion for dogs and horses.

Kurt Hermansen-Jent - Business Loan Associate
Kurt was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska spending his summers in Cohoe, AK commercial fishing with his family.
He left Alaska for two years to acquire a degree in professional welding in Ohio and underwater construction in Florida. In 2014 he started working for Wells Fargo as a loan officer. In early 2017 Kurt was very excited to join Cook Inlet Lending Center’s team to help people achieve their dreams of becoming home owners. Kurt enjoys spending his free time with his family, commercial fishing, golfing and creating metal sculptures/furniture.

Patrick Lawlor - HAF Program Eligibility Specialist
Patrick Lawlor was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. Patrick worked in Quality Control in Highway and Runway construction for 15 years throughout Alaska.
After graduating from UAA, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology in 1998, Patrick has worked for the last 24 years in housing programs at RurAL CAP, CIHA and now with CILC. Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, reading, hikes and basketball.

Renate Houser - HAF Eligibility Specialist
Renate has called Alaska home since moving from Germany with her family in 1986.
Renate prides herself on her commitment to excellent customer service with her IDA participants and spends as much time as needed counseling them to successful homeownership. In her spare time Renate enjoys the arts, theater, music, travel, reading and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Genevieve Hutson - HAF Eligibility Specialist
Genevieve is a lifelong Alaskan, born in Nome and raised in Anchorage and the Native Village of Stebbins with a background in business administration.
In her free time, Genevieve enjoys creating Alaska Native indigenous earrings and sewing indigenous attire, further expressing her creativity and cultural pride. She loves reading, going on road trips to small towns in Alaska, practicing subsistence activities, and spending quality time with her family.
Genevieve is also an active member of a Native dance group, celebrating and sharing her cultural heritage through traditional Yupik dance. Additionally, she is keenly interested in photography, capturing the beauty of her surroundings and the moments that matter most. Her hobbies reflect her creativity, love for adventure, and deep connection to her cultural roots and loved ones.

Colleen Jepsen - Receptionist
Colleen was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. After high school, she attended Gonzaga University and received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She has over 30 years of experience in business administration, purchasing, and customer relations, working in the public and private sectors. Her excellent listening skills and ability to relate to people are just a few strengths she brings to the team.
Colleen hikes year-round and enjoys biking, fishing, camping, and kayaking. Her favorite travel memories include kayaking in Cuba, Croatia, and Mexico. She’s a bit of a football fanatic during the NFL season, and she never misses her Green Bay Packers play. Reading and doing crosswords are a daily must, but spending time with friends and family, laughing and experiencing life together, is her passion. Raising two amazing sons, Connor and Trevor, has been the greatest joy of her life.

Jeff Tickle - President & CEO
Jeff Tickle arrived to Alaska in August of 1992 and landed in Sand Point, an Alaska Native Aleut Community on the edge of the Alaska Peninsula in the Shumigan Islands.
He graduated from Sand Point high school and attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks and Anchorage before graduating with his Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance in 2005. After working in the banking and mortgage industry for 8 years, Jeff was thrilled to join and lead the Cook Inlet Lending Center team when he learned the focus was in helping our State of Alaska communities and families towards the goal of homeownership. “The community of Sand Point, Alaska welcomed me with open arms upon my arrival years ago and it is with great honor to be able to give back to our Alaska Native communities in the pursuit of homeownership.”

Kari Coon - General Manager
Kari has resided in Alaska since 1991 and has lived in Dutch Harbor, Ketchikan, and since 2001, in Wasilla.
She joined CILC with a heart for Alaska and its small businesses. Kari has a background as a small business owner and as a commercial credit analyst with Wells Fargo. She loves animals, especially dogs, with two of her own. In her spare time, Kari enjoys working on landscaping projects on her property and spending time with family.

Julie Nolen - Business Lending Manager
Julie is a lifelong Alaskan who grew up working in her family's catering business in Anchorage.
After earning her degree from Northern Arizona University, Julie returned to Alaska and eventually laid roots in the Mat-Su Valley. She has many years of experience providing technical assistance to small businesses throughout Alaska. She loves being part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, which is one reason she is thrilled to be a part of the fantastic team at Cook Inlet Lending Center.
In her free time, Julie can usually be found boating or snow machining with her family on the Yentna River.

Abby Miller - Financial Wellness Program Manager
Abby began in Cleveland, Ohio, but her passion for financial wellness and desire to be closer to family led her to Alaska. With a proven track record of leading a successful financial wellness coaching start-up, Abby brings a wealth of experience to the table. Her focus on credit building, budgeting techniques, and small business analytics has significantly increased access to financial resources in her community. Before joining CILC, Abby served as a Bank of the West branch manager while pursuing her MBA. She is excited to bring her expertise to our team.
Outside of work, Abby enjoys spending as much time as possible in nature and relaxing with her beloved companions, Rizzo the Dog and Seabass the Cat. She can usually be found with an earbud in, listening to a new podcast or audiobook.

Benjamin Reynolds - Residential Lending Manager

Benjamin Reynolds is a born and raised Alaskan, growing up and attending high school in Anchorage.
After graduating from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA with a degree in Music Production, he returned home to Alaska and began a career in the banking and real estate lending industries. With experience in Residential Lending, Mortgage Education and Training, and Quality Control, Benjamin joined CILC in 2023 with a passion for helping underserved communities in the State of Alaska to realize their dreams of homeownership in this fantastic community we call home. Along with his work at CILC, Benjamin is a husband and father, musician, and professional wedding and family photographer that enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Patricia Sanculi - Administrative Supervisor
Patricia Sanculi is a lifelong Alaskan resident from the small fishing village of Cordova, Alaska, where she graduated in 2007.
She then moved to Anchorage, where she began attending UAA and worked full-time as an Administrative Clerk. She has worked in Admin for over five years and started at Cook Inlet Housing Authority as a Career Ready Intern in 2015. Patricia was promoted to a full-time employee with Cook Inlet Lending Center in June 2015. She has one four-year-old son named Kaiden. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, photography, and being outdoors during the summer months in Alaska.
